Bug fixes

  • Fixed JSON send requests: to, cc, and bcc are now sent as comma-separated strings instead of arrays in JSON request bodies. This aligns JSON serialization with the multipart behavior and resolves compatibility issues with API expectations.

Upgrade notes

If you are on 0.2.0, upgrade to 0.2.1 to ensure recipient arrays serialize correctly in JSON requests. No code changes are required.

New features

  • Added timeoutMs constructor option (default 30,000 ms) with per-request AbortController timeout support.
  • Added cc and bcc support in sendEmail.
  • Added attachment support via multipart form-data. Up to 10 files, 10 MB each, 20 MB total.
  • Added getEmailStatus(messageId) for delivery status lookups.
  • Expanded Result shape: now includes statusCode, id, messageId, and status fields.
  • Added client-side validation for recipients, subject, body, text/html, and attachments.
  • Exported TypeScript types: Result, SendEmailBody, SendAttachment, EmailStatusResult, EmailStatusData, EmailSentStatus, BosonMailClientOptions.

Changes

  • text is now optional in SendEmailBody. You must provide at least one of text or html.

Upgrade notes from 0.1.0

Basic sendEmail(to, subject, { text }) calls remain compatible. To use new features:
  • Add timeoutMs to the constructor if you want a non-default timeout.
  • Pass cc, bcc, or attachments in the body object.
  • Read result.messageId and result.status from the returned Result.
  • Use getEmailStatus to poll delivery state.
